Getting New Tires

How do you know if you need new tires?

If you are wondering if you need new tires, there are a couple things you can look out for to ensure proper treatment for your Chevrolet. The biggest sign is low tire tread. You can easily check this by putting a penny into the tread grooves, with Lincoln’s head facing down. If you can see the top of Lincoln’s head, it’s time to replace your tires. You should also keep an eye out for bulges or cracks on the sidewalls of your tires. These can weaken the tire and make it more prone to blowouts. If you feel vibrations in the steering wheel or while you are driving, this is also a sign you may need new tires.

How often do you need new tires?

Most tires last between 25,000-50,000 miles before needing to be replaced, though there are various factors that may impact your tire’s lifespan. Even if you think your tires look fine, in addition to regular wear and tear, over time, the rubber can degrade and make your vehicle unsafe to drive. The team at the Joe Holland Chevrolet Certified Service Center are experts when it comes to making sure your Chevrolet’s tires are well-functioning and safe to drive. Think you need new tires?
